DJ Eliazar
DJ Eliazar has been spreading his own version of music with funk and swing for over 20 years. As Founder of the Speakeasy Electro Swing group of music events around the globe, he has been considered by some to the the godfather of Electro Swing music in North America. He started the Speakeasy nights in various lofts around Montreal in 2010, and once joined by Don Mescal and DJ Khalil found the team that would help spread the Vintage remix sounds far and wide. Their current monthly residency is at Lion D'Or, a swing dance club originally built in 1930 for all the touring live swing bands of that era, as Montreal was a hotbed for the sound during prohibition. The Speakeasy Electro Swing nights are now happening all over the globe including Vancouver, Chongqing, Beijing, Shanghai, Oklahoma City, Kuala Lumpur, Atlanta, Austin, Seattle, Leeds, Oslo, Denver, Nanaimo, Victoria, Barcelona, Mexico City, New York, Washington DC, and is growing each season. Eliazar just wishes his grandma who had been a flapper back in the day and filled his head with stories of speakeasies, prohibition, and Benny Goodman cassettes could see how much she has influenced how swing in step with the world.

Eliazar now lives on a small island in BC, still touring the globe to play amazing music that you have never heard before that will always make you want to get up and dance. He has compiled 3 Speakeasy Electro Swing compilations that are free to download all over the globe, with Vol. 4 released in April 2015. He has shared the stage with all manner of DJs including the dunkelbunt, Swingrowers, Sweet Life Society, Grant Lazlo, Chris Tofu, Luke Vibert, Adahm Shaikh, JPOD, The Incredible Kid, Dayhota, Mahala Rai Banda, Medicineman, Al Lindrum, Max Pashem, DJ Delay, The Carlson Two, and countless others.
